About Us

HowmuchUbench.com was the brain child of a motley group of young beef-monkeys from Northeast Jersey with too much testosterone and plenty of time. The idea of creating a social networking site devoted entirely to like-minded bodybuilders, weightlifters and power lifters came to us one afternoon at the gym. In the middle of one our usual benching competitions the idea struck us like a thunder-bolt: why not create a site that could somehow capture the socially interactive, fun and competitive workout experience that you get at your local gym or fitness club? And this is precisely what we've set out to achieve here at HowmuchUbench.com: nothing less than the ultimate virtual social networking experience exclusively geared towards bodybuilders, weightlifters and power lifters. So, the question you're probably asking yourself is: why join yet another social networking site?

Well, what distinguishes our site from the rest is not only the fact this is a site devoted entirely towards the fitness community, a place where fellow bodybuilders, fitness-freaks and the like can meet, interact, socialize and share great working-out secrets, but also a place where you can actually compete with one another on our WhereUstackup feature. Here, you can enter in all your own weightlifting statistics and figures, how much you Bench, Squat, Dead lift, and see how you match up to other weightlifters in your area, state, region, country and, well, even the world, if you think you're up to it! In a nut shell, this is a site all about having fun and meeting new people.

This isn't a site about making money, there are no membership fees, it's absolutely free and we won't try to sell you a single thing to become a member (though it wouldn't kill you to buy one of our T-shirts to keep this site open). We just wanted to create a site where beef-monkeys like ourselves can meet like-minded people, share their experiences, have some friendly competition and have a great time in the process. We hope you join and have as much fun as we've had making the site. It's been a great experience.

The site was designed and programmed by The Canton Group, and we think they did a great job. If there is something on the site you don't like or you have a question, or maybe you're just bored at work and you feeling like chatting, you can write us directly on the P. Bateman's Blog and we'll get back to you as quick as humanly possible. We didn't make this site for ourselves, but for our members. And we want it to be the best site absolutely possible, so please, don't hesitate to send us your suggestions, funny jokes, or even a job well done message. Either way, we'd like to hear from you.

We also need to thank Jonathan Wang for creating the site's logo- Maximus himself. So, if you like working out, or just feel like getting to know a bunch of great people, please give us a try. If you don't like it, you can always quit, complain or both. We hope to see you here!!!
